Our Community

Thank you for your interest in Fox Hills West and the Fox Hills West Citizens Association (FHWCA).  We are located in Potomac, Maryland, west of Route 270, east of Watts Branch Park, north of Copenhaver and Cold Spring communities and south of the city limits of Rockville’s Horizon Hills community.  You can use the maps on this site to view our homes, streets and parks.

Fox Hills West consists of 552 homes built by the Pulte Development Company between 1968 and 1973.  Our homes are in what is legally known as Potomac Commons and this is the name that appears in our deeds and in the Covenants that were recorded in the land deeds of Montgomery County in 1968 and 1971.

The Fox Hills West Citizens Association was incorporated January, 1971 with the goal of furthering the civic and social well-being of the community’s residents. The Association was given the task of enforcing the Covenants by vote of the community in 1973.

If you are thinking of buying a home in our community please read the Covenants as they apply to all homeowners in Fox Hills West.

Membership in the Association is voluntary and is not required as a condition of home ownership here.  However a majority of residents are members and are eligible to list Teen Services, view Teen Services, receive a copy of our Annual Directory, vote at our Annual Meeting, become involved in the Association and are welcome to participate in our community Garage Sale every May and our other community events run during the year.
